Free Consultations

ASWSU Student Legal Services provides free 30-minute consultations with our licensed attorney to all current Washington State University (WSU) students enrolled on any WSU campus.

Scheduling an Appointment

Please contact us at sls@wsu.edu, 509-335-9539, or visit our office in CUB 305 to schedule an appointment. Once the intake process is complete, an intern will forward the intake form to our attorney who will then review it and reach out to the student to set up a free legal consultation. As part of the intake process, students seeking an appointment with ASWSU Student Legal Services will need to provide our interns with their basic personal information, WSU student ID number, and a brief description of why they are seeking legal services.

Legal Representation

Our attorney provides legal representation to students at a 35% discounted price upon request. Please schedule your free 30-minute consultation to discuss this option.

What and Who to Bring

Please bring any information relevant to your consultation or legal documentation as it relates to the nature of your visit.  Please only invite persons who are directly involved in the nature of your visit.  Please refrain from bringing guests to your consultation

Conflicts of Interest

Student Legal Services is an entity of Washington State University. The employees of SLS are, thus, employees of the University. Therefore, we are unable to give legal advice on cases that deal with:

  • Washington State University (issues with other University offices, such as the Center for Community Standards, Office of Financial Aid, etc.)
  • WSU Student vs. WSU Student
  • WSU Student vs. WSU Faculty or Staff

Students with a conflict of interest or in need of assistance with a topic of law our attorney does not provide will be referred to another law office in Pullman or service at WSU that may be able to help.

Who Is Eligible for a Consultation?
