Interning with SLS

ASWSU Student Legal Services operates through intern committees, which manage various aspects of our organization. These committees collaborate with classrooms, student groups, and departments to share information about our services and upcoming events. They also oversee our social media presence and organize intern appreciation events annually.

We offer internships on a voluntary and for-credit basis. Volunteer interns commit to a minimum of three office hours per week. For-credit internships, affiliated with the Criminal Justice or Political Science departments, require a minimum of seven office hours and one committee hour per week. Credit internships need approval from both your advisor and the relevant department.

Students of all grade levels and disciplines are encouraged to apply to our internships. Although the internship for credit is offered only through specific departments, our internship is available to all ambitious and motivated students.

Applying for an Internship

Applicants need to submit a resume, cover letter, and sign the internship policies document. Applications are accepted continuously, and interviews will be scheduled based on availability.

A strong applicant possesses a well-crafted resume and cover letter, demonstrating leadership skills and campus involvement. For guidance on creating professional application materials, visit the Undergraduate Writing Center in CUE 303. Applications can be submitted every semester, depending on office vacancies.

Our internships are open to students of all levels and disciplines. While credit options are limited to specific departments, we welcome all ambitious and motivated students. There are no specific GPA requirements; we evaluate applicants holistically, appreciating high-achieving and well-rounded individuals.
